This is a light hearted post directed at the panic buyers.

Over this winter I have been building a match rifle for Service rifle competition in the spring. One of the things I have been looking for is some quality 10 round mags because in parts of the competition you are only loading 2 and 8 rounds in a mag at any one time and I figured 10 rounders would be less bulky than the 20 or 30 rounders I already have.

I never saw any that weren't priced well above the price of the standard 30 round mag and since competitions don't start again until the weather breaks I haven't worried much about it. Most stores around me didn't even stock any 10 or 20 rounders at all, only 30 and I just haven't gotten around to ordering them from Midway yet.

I guess I don't have to worry about this anymore. All of the panic buyers are gobbling up 30 round mags as fast as their supply can be restocked and the prices are going through the roof. Once this goes on for a month or two, I should be able to get plenty of 10 round mags at a decent price since that is all that will be left. <sarcasm off>

On the other hand, the prices of those 10-round magazines could increase even more because demand for them will be higher when they are all that is left.

I should add that we don't need to wait for some perceived or real ban. We are effectively making the high cap mags inaccessible by the panic buyers getting them all.
