Md, NJ, or Indiana gun laws???

I also recommend Indiana. We have a very good CCW program (oldest in the nation) And the highest Per Capita of CCW holders in the nation. The police are pretty laid back about it with a few obvious exceptions and we are about to elect a Republican Governor.

Permit take 25 bucks and about 4-6 weeks to get. I have never had a problem getting mine. We also have one of the largest Gun stores in the world in the southern part of the state. I consider us one of the best states in the Union :p

so long as you avoid the far north(and maybe Bloomington), the cops are as laid back as probably anywhere there is. Even Indy is actually pretty easy-going on the subject

My impression is that even the far north of Indiana is pretty gun friendly (and rural), excepting that little corner that borders the Chicago area and perhaps Fort Wayne proper. The cops there are going to be, I think, pretty standard representatives of heartland, corn-kingdom America. I remember how pleased I was a few years ago (living in Michigan at the time which was substantially less gun friendly) when a friend in Indiana explained their permitting system.

Fort Wayne isn't too bad, every place has their crying liberal gun haters. I would say South Bend is worse than Fort Wayne and the Gary area the worst of all because of it's position relative to Chicago. I am a bit closer to Fort Wayne than S. Bend, kinda out in the boomies the way I like it.

I can walk out my door day or night and shoot, although the deputy sheriff that just built down the road from me keeps me from doing to much at night but he's cool with shooters and if he hears shots from my house, he isn't going to worry about it.

another vote for IN.

good gun laws.

drawback, no daylight savings time.;)

In New Jersey you have to apply for a permit just to own an air gun.

:cuss: Unfreakin' believable! Did not realize how bad it has become in some parts of the country!

Having spent time in both Indiana and New Jersey I can tell you I'd much rather put up with humidity and bumpkins than oppression and bad traffic.

Been living in Indiana for almost 16 years now. The humidity can get bad at times but it does not last for weeks on end like it did when I lived in North Carolina! That was pretty serious humidity . at least compared to IN.

I moved here from NC and applied for a carry permit about a month afterwards - it was approved and I have owned a permit ever since.

Sorry ZeroX, but Bloomington IS somewhat...odd...sometimes...OK, a LOT of the time. ;) And I said "north" because I don't get up there very much and really don't know just how far the influence of Gary goes. I've heard some unpleasant stories, though.

Indiana is great on CCP. Every adult in my family has one. Indiana is pretty gun friendly, especially in the southern end of the state.
