$100 crossbow

I ran across what seems like a fair deal. Used Barnett xp350 for $100. Now looks almost new so I pulled the trigger after reading reviews. It’s a far cry from the recurve cheapo jaguar I had played with a few years ago. I think I did well.

It’s supposed to. From what I have found online it seems like a budget version of a nicer bow that claims 370fps. There’s one video review on YouTube where the guy chronographs a shot at 364 fps. That’s no slouch. My compound is clocking 300 and it’s flat so this should be even flatter. I’m hoping to sight it in at around 35 yards and then walk it in and out to see where 3” drop is and tell my 10yr old that whatever range that is is maximum range. Should give her a better chance than her 410 with slugs and will give her a longer season to hunt. Maybe this year we can find time for more than 1 morning sit.

I started out with a Barnet Jackle. I passed it on to my son. It does the job. I bought a Centerpoint sniper 370 crossbow when Dunhams had them on clearace after the season. I like the idea of an adjutsable stock.

I wiped out and bought a cheaper bow because my local bowshop (7 or 8 miles away) was selling them . I bought the entire pkg....bow, scope, quiver, bolts, broadheads, silencer pkg, and carrying case.....then in about 10days he went into of business.

Its called carbon express 370. It's fine...but it wasn't a bargain.

The laminated paper taped on the stock is the dope for the bdc scope out to 70yds. I wouldn't shoot a deer out that far....but I would launch one at a coyote.

My dad uses a Barnett. He gets plenty of deer with it.

I started with an aluminum bowed Whamo as a youth . As a young man in late 70s got a Barnett Commando used for 30 years and my son still has it around for occasional use. I bought a dozen strings for it and he has a few left. It is looser but still works well and I chrono graphed it years ago with an old PACT and got 320 fps with a razor head :

Barnett was bought by Surge Outdoors and it seems to have been a good deal for both. For the price point, they are a great value. Not a Ravin or Ten Point, but it'll do the job.
