The Sightron SI gets good press.
With that limit, I might try the Simmons 4X32 pro diamond shotgun scope.
I was going to offer up the s1 as well. I find it comparable to my burris ff2.
http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm?contentID=productDetail&prodID=WE94563 is a pretty good option as well, but then you're creeping up into 135 or so delivered.

The banner would be my choice for truly under 100 delivered as well. they were just redesigned and supposedly improved. supposedly.

cheap scopes

I have a Primary Arms 3x9x40 that I like a lot and it is under 100$.

If I were limited to $100 the Sightron S1 would be my choice. They are made in the Phillipines, not China.

They used to be made in Japan. Now THOSE were great scopes!

Sportsmans Warehouse is having a "black friday sale" right now........Nikon 3x9-40 for $99 and Burris 3x9-40 for $149.

give cameraland a call and ask for doug and ask him what hed recommend in the price range you are talking. Hes allways got closeout deals.

Many will act like you risk complete failure if you don't have a high dollar scope.

After having a Bushnell Trophy scope fail on me on a high-$ african hunting safari I had saved for and waited for a long time, I might disagree with "complete failure" being hypothetical in more than one sense of the word. Shooting a deer or two on your back yard: anything goes. A dedicated hunting weekend couple of hundreds of miles away: VX1, Nikon Monarch etc. A two week trip halfway around the world: Zeiss, Swarovski, Schmidt & Bender.

OTOH, if one's budget is $100 then it's $100 and then you'll just have to make the best of it. With a budget that limited, I'd probably look for relatively new brand name scopes on second hand market for best bang for the buck.

I had a chance at the deer of a lifetime and lost it because my "good" Simmons scope fogged solid.

Anyway, if you are locked into that price and want it right away, I'd get the Vortex in the post right above this. If you can wait, try to see if the LGS will pull one off a used rifle. I got an incredible Burris Black Diamond almost free by doing some trading. I have some REALLY nice scopes (VX-3's, etc.) and it's as good as any.

If you can find one with a few surface dings, all the better. Guys go nutty if something has a mark on it. If the optics are good, does it really matter? Just means someone put the first mark on it before you did.

There are several scopes that are plenty adequate at $100. The problem for me is that you may wind up buying super cheap rings and mounts and those can be a killer. IF you have those covered then a Bushnell Banner will fit your bill nicely. Buy Leupold or Weaver bases and rings and you will be set.
