If all goes well and once I get everything settled after the move and new job I hope to spend some money on myself. I haven't gotten everything picked out but on the short list:

1911 22 upper
The needed parts to get my hodge-podge reloading gear running
Magazines for 1911, AR, AKs, G3 and maybe BHP and CZ75
10/22 parts (Tech-sight for sure)
Ammo
870 trade ins
Save towards future projects (5" Officers) and purchases (nice 308 bolt)

Here's no joke what I'd do with $1K.

I buy a lifetime NRA membership.

Then, with the rest, I'd spend it all on ammo in various calibers.

hillbilly

I would load 4000 rounds of 40 IPSC loads, take a class with Manny Bragg/Frank Garcia, and shoot the 2000 rounds left after the class in practice trying to burn in what I was taught.

No wait, I already put the money down for that and bought everything I need to get it done so I would have another thousand to spend....

I would buy the some of the parts to build an IPSC Open class gun, and build it after I scraped up another thousand dollars.

What would I do?

Aggressive investment to turn that kilobuck into $2K, then $4K.

Then, once it's grown adequately, purchase parts for a very special pair of 1911s, a replica M1C/D sniper Garand (can always remove the scope for battlerifle use, right?) and an Ithaca 37 trenchgun (custom from Ithaca, not a Norinclone Commie piece of crap), assorted classes at LFI/Thunder Ranch/etc. and contributions to CCRKBA/SAF/GOA/NRA et al.

And NOT ONE DIME for the Republican Party until we can take our party back from the Bush League hijackers... (For a "conservative", "W" sure does act an awful lot like a Lib-ocrat in too many ways for my comfort--mind you, I voted for him twice and support the war in Iraq!) Donations to individual candidates would be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Happened to me about 6 months ago. A guy backed into my truck, dented the bumper, offered me $1000 cash not to file an accident report. Said he didn't want it on his insurance.

I got:
$130- Yugo 59/66 SKS Unissued
$105- Yugo 24/47 Mauser
$100- Swiss K31 Walnut
$200- 870 Police (used)

$50- 500 rounds 7.62x39
$50- 760 rounds 8mm
$50- 120 rounds 7.5x55

$100- 900 rounds 9mm

$175- Advanced Defensive Handgun class
$30- C&R Application

Total= $990

I just can't decide what to do with the rest of it!:D

i would add more of my own money( already plan on doing this anyway) and buy as much bulk ammo as possible.
why? because i live in california and this is what they are trying to do (Assemblyman Torrico Attempting To Ban Online And Mail Order Ammo

New: AB 2714 will end online and mail order ammunition sales to California under the false premise that it's a problem.) i cant retire for another 4 years and move away from this anti gun state so i need 4 years worth of ammo if this passes. and it already passed phase 1. $1000 is about 6 months worth of ammo for me at bulk.

Right now, probably .223 ammo: 2000 rounds of Lake City XM193 and 1300 rounds of Hornady TAP 77gr. My .223 supply is getting low, mostly Wolf left, and want lots of qualty food for my incoming M4LE.

A little later, an AAC Evo-9 CQB silencer for my G26.
