Given the cost in landing fees and parking fees at Reagan National, where the Kerry's $35 million private Jet would have parked, this haircut would have cost John Kerry in the neighborhood of $5,000-$7,000.

Anybody, particularly a male, that is so insecure that they would pay this amount of money on a haircut is suffering from a deep mental illness.

What was that bit about the Democrats being the party of the common man again?

$1000 HAIRCUT? KERRY FLIES IN HAIRDRESSER FOR TOUCH-UP BEFORE 'MEET THE PRESS'

**Exclusive**

On the Friday before his MEET THE PRESS appearance, Dem presidential hopeful John Kerry flew his Washington, DC hairdresser to Pittsburgh for a touch-up, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Cristophe stylist Isabelle Goetz, who handles Kerry's hair issues, made the trek to Pittsburgh, campaign sources reveal.

"Her entire schedule had to be rearranged," a top source explains.

A Kerry campaign spokesman refuses to clarify if Goetz flew by private jet on April 16 or on the official Kerry For President campaign plane.

The total expense for the hair touch-up is estimated to be more than $1000, insiders tell DRUDGE.

One source suggests the hairdresser was flown to Pittburgh on Teresa Heinz Kerry's 'Flying Squirrel', a Gulfstream V private jet.

[The 'Flying Squirrel' is worth about $35 million. A deluxe model; plasma TV, two bathrooms, fancy mahogany and burlwood paneling, gold-plated fixtures.]

"Senator Kerry thinks Isabelle does a superb job," a campaign source said.

Goetz grew up in a small town in eastern France. She also does Hillary Clinton's hair.

Kerry still looks like a cross between Festus from "Gunsmoke" and Lurch from "The Munsters"

Well, maybe he only gets a 20% from GQ Magazine, but he gets a 100% rating from the Brady Campaign.

Whoop dee doo. He's rich, and most of it he married into, so spending huge sums on stupid stuff is par for the course.

Anyone who fell for that "common man" stuff is braindead, there aren't any common men running for President these days, and certainly not in THIS election.

Mr Kerry is apparently very good at spending other peoples' money, another reason why I don't want him as my President.

All 'n all, a pretty disgusting display of vulgarity and vanity.:barf:

Nobody is saying Kerry doesn't have the right to spend his wealthy wife's money on whatever she permits him to. I wonder how much of an allowance she gives him, but incidents like this do speak to Kerry's mindset and are important to look into.

This incident speaks to Kerry's lack of self confidence. Kerry was apparently so scared about the upcoming Russert interview that he freaked out and dropped 5 large on a new hairdoo in order to reassure himself in the way that a woman would. Very strange behavior.

Didn't the Hillbilly Whore-Hopper do something similar? except that he also held up airport traffic while he got his hair cut on AF1.

Don't nobody hang out at Floyd's Barbershop no more? :D They've usually got good old G&A and Field & Stream magazines to peruse.

Hackworth's term "perfumed prince" comes to mind.

Then again, if I made my way in the world by chasing multi-millionaire heiresses I'd probably get a player's 'do too. A thousand here, a thousand there, pretty soon you're talking real money, though...

Before this season in hell is over Kerry will wish he'd stayed in 'Nam.:D

Are we constantly going to be reading these 'Kerry has manicure', 'Kerry eats beans and then farts', 'Kerry sleeps on LEFT side of bed' threads that purport to be about 'the character of the man'?

It's no better than 'Bush is draft dodger', 'Bush's failed oil ventures' that you all would heavily protest against as 'trolling'.

No political significance whatsoever.

You think any of them are any better?

Honestly, go back through Kerry's voting record, look at his intended actions were he to be elected - it's all there. You don't need to drop to this level.

If he's willing to spend a grand on a haircut that doesn't look much better than the one I got here in Merrimack for $12, then what do you think he'll be willing to do with money that's not his own when the spending bills start crossing his desk?

"Party of the Working Man" my foot. Hopefully all the blue collar union types will see through his BS, regardless of the fact that he donned a hard hat and toured a coal mine.

I disagree. This is yet more evidence of his character, or rather lack thereof.
It indicates that he may be an insecure (therfore indecisive) narcissistic primadonna.

Of course, I may be wrong. He could be a war hero for all I know.

Its something I often don't talk about...but Kerry did serve in Vietnam you know! :banghead:

I disagree.

Kerry's low character and questionable mental state is illustrated in his odd day-to-day behavior just as well as by his terrible extremist left wing voting record. Kerry's low character is a perfectly legitimate and important area of inquiry.

With all due respect, you are not an American, you will not be voting this fall, you don't even live in the US. You have no standing to be lecturing Americans on what is and isn't proper political discourse. Nobody is forcing you to read this thread. If it offends you there's a lot of great reading elsewhere on THR.

BTW- I have heard that story before about Kerry' severe flatulance. Another driven, extremist "war hero" by the name of Adolph Hitler also suffered from that condition. Makes one wonder.

Kerry also gets a 100% rating from the Brady Campaign to Confiscate Firearms

Waitone:

I'm glad I'm not the only one appalled by the level of political discours in this election. It is childish, infantile, and downright pathetic.

6 more months of enlightened discourse

I disagree. Similar questions were raised about Clinton's low character and were ignored by the voters. Look at what that brought us: the AWB and the 9/11 attacks.

Questions of character are indeed important to look into.

At the very least you have to concede that the Dim-o-Rats started the political discourse down this path with their campaign to discredit Bush's National Guard Service. In fact this process began back in 2000 with the Dim-O-Rats trying to smear Ralph Nader as a homosexual after he announced he was in the race back in 2000. This is the "gay-rights" protectin' party BTW.

Very minor importance

These things are an insight into character but don't mean much in themselves. One of the problems with the silly season is politicans rarely lay out any detailed proposals for the future that can be discussed so all we are left with is this stuff.

Example

Kerry wants more jobs for "working people". OK. Great. Other than direct employment by the govt. how is he goiing to do this? Tax credits? Reduced taxes on businesses? Fewer regulations to reduce costs and free up capital? Order business owners to hire people or go to jail? All I hear are fancy phrases that don't say anything. Most all politicians do the same thing so the Repubs don't get a pass either.

Besides, Kerry is such an easy target to make fun of.

Kerry wants more jobs for "working people". OK. Great. Other than direct employment by the govt. how is he goiing to do this?

He could start by bringing the 57 overseas Heinz plants back to the U.S.

VOILA! 10,000 tomato squasher positions created!

I believe that a man has the right to spend their money on whatever they chose. If Kerry were a guy who lived in my community that flew in a hairdresser for a $10K haircut or he went to Mastercuts for their $10 haircut, it really isn't my business. But this is the man that is supposed to make some of the toughest financial decisions in the world. Not only that, he will be controlling to some extent every U.S. citizen's financial destiny. Now do you want a person who will spend $1K on a haircut to be controlling your financial destiny?

But you don't understand!

It wasn't HIS plane
It wasn't HIS money
They were not HIS medals
And Charlie Gibson did not see what he saw........
.................................it belonged to the family.....dontcha know :banghead:

This is pathetic. The best you've got is to attack the guy based on his haircut? It's his/her money, he can spend it on whatever he wants, as is his right as an American citizen. Extrapolating from a haircut before a national TV appearance to financial policy is specious at best and juvenile.

I also find it hard to stomach, guessing that some of you have purchased guns that cost more than my car and having endured to the endless "Show what you got" threads on this and other forums. If you have not had a gun refinished, or have basketweave holster or sling, or chrome naked ladies on your truck mudflaps, maybe then you can talk. Different people have different priorities. How much does a good Texan spend on boots?

Really, how low will this go?
