Took a little time today to do some further testing with 44-77 using the new paper patch bullet I got Buffalo Arms build the blocks for, and Olde Eynsford powder.
The load was that .434-470 bullet wrapped in 8 # seth cole paper , seated atop 76 grs Olde E 1.5, a muzzleloader original felt wad and a wad punched from rubber cork gaske material, all crammed into Jamison cases and primed with a br 2 primer.
My wife was shooting her Winchester bpcr 45-70 loaded with 39 grs bh209, a .060 fiber wad, and the saeco 645 bullet lubed with bullshop nasa lube. Stuffed into RP case and primed with federal 215M primer.
Wind was a bit to deal with , at the firing point we had a 7 oclock from 3-15 mph, but at the target it was full value at 15+. Mirage was running across the target at about a 45 degree angle from left to right.
All in all pretty happy with the way things worked.
