10mm or .45 auto ???

The Witness chucks brass because the ejector is too long. Cut it down a bit, and the ejection distance becomes normal.

Changed the direction it came out -- straight sideways vs over my shoulder, but didn't change the distance enough to matter much. Stronger recoil spring had even less effect.

then you need to shorten it even more. IIRC you end up cutting off a goodly bit of the extractor.

I'd like a 10MM AUTO some day, in the meantime I have a S&W 1911 5" Bbl. in .45 ACP - I am pretty sure I can walk into any run of the mill sporting goods store and buy ammo for it.

.45 ACP 165 gr. 185 gr. 200 gr. 230 gr.

oh, and I have a 625 5" Bbl. in .45 ACP which fires the same ammo as above as well as .45 Auto Rim in heavier loads.

Have we gotten to .45 SUper yet? Hey, let's the PSI to 27K with a
heavier recoil spring for the 1911 or just shoot it in the 625.

Oh, but my 1911 is right now at the gun smith's for a .400 CorBon barrel
being fitted. - .400 COrBon is the same PSI as .45 ACP +P 23,000 and it
equals the 10MM AUto up to 165 gr. bullet weights.

and the 1911 also has the .22 LR COnv. Kits eavailable - any available for a Built up frame Delta Elite ???

ANd with the Delta ELite I've got hmm, well, uh just 10MM auto....

oh, get a S&W 610 it'll shoot 10MM Auto & .40 S&W at least vs the Delta ELite

SOmebody said here it'll do anything a 9mm will do, ok will a Delta elite give me the option of buying WWB bulk at Wally WOrld for
$19 per 100 rds for my CZ 75B?

SIlly stuff.... one round versatility

okay, having never fired the 10mm, i gotta ask. Several have commented on giggling when firing or having a big smile on their face. What is it about this round that makes this different when firing, as i've heard this expression a few times.

I love my 10mm S&W 1076. However, owning a gun in the 10mm round was not even an option in my mind before I had my reloading equipment. Sure you can find it around, somewhere, sometimes. But it's usually watered down to 40S&W specs, at least most plinking fodder is unless you step up to the likes of Double Tap, Georgia Arms or Reeds Ammo.

However, my experience with the full power offerings of the specialty manufacturers is that they tend to split on the reload. This has been exclusively Starline brass by the way. I have never split any other 10mm brass that came in the 40S&W power level plinking fodder, not a one. And this has been mostly Federal's American Eagle brand 10mm plinking fodder with the exact 40S&W energy specs.

If you reload, get the .45 unless you like chasing brass into the weeds. The 10mm has violent ejection, where I shoot I lose maybe 3% of .45 and find a dozen or so empties the guy before me left behind. With 10mm I'm thrilled to recover half the empties

Well put wally, that said, I'm looking into a S&W610 just so I can find my brass again. ;) There's nothing worse than finding your 10mm cases after you've trampled all over them.

I have two stainless Colt Gold Cup's. One is the Delta Gold Cup model in 10mm. I have to say it is more accurate than the 45, and shoots flat enough to hit at 70-80 yards that which I would not think about shooting at with the 45. Downrange it retains much more energy than the 45.

Combine the "pushing" feeling of a .45ACP and actual recoil similar to small 357 revolver and its not hard to smile. Plus, when you can feel the percussion on your face, or your buddy standing next to you can feel it, you know that bullet is moving fast. The 10mm also seems to be louder in an indoor range than a .223 rifle.

It has to be 10mm. You know it was designed to shoot through schools and churches.:neener:

I have both .45 and 10mm and enjoy both but for different reasons. CCW is .45 vehicle gun is 10mm, but both are just a means to get to the long gun.
