I have an 11-87 stock with which I am looking to replace my 870 stock. I am told that this is doable so long as I get a longer stock bolt and a washer. I have a washer, but does anyone have a link to where I can buy a bolt that is the proper size to allow the 11-87 stock to be properly fitted to an 870? I don't think it matters, but both the 870 and 11-87 are Police "P" models. Thanks!

Depends on the vintage I think, but the action spring tube on an 11-87 is both longer and bigger around that the original 870 stock bolts. Just take the old bolt to the hardware store and get either a bolt or a piece of all thread rod and cut it. Don't forget a star washer too to keep it snug. Some people also wrap some tape around the bolt in a couple of places to keep it centered in the channel.

Thanks guys. I did some researching and found that what L-2 said is accurate. my 11-87 will work with 10.5" bolts, but not the 8 5/16" bolts which is what my 870 has. In any case, I just went with a Mesa Tactical Urbino Stock with cheekriser (includes a 10.5" bolt) and it's awesome!
