I'm looking to use 110 Grain Hornady Vmax in my 300 blackout loads.
I saw some red tip .308 designated projectiles in stock on Midway today and bought 200 of them,
but then right after saw there is a type that is a black box and designated for .300 blackout.

Did I buy the wrong projectiles? Will the red tipped 110 grain work well for .300 blackout?
If not, what is the actual difference?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, any .308 diameter bullet will run in your blackout.... some just better than others. Whatever flavor of 110gr bullets you ended up with, should be good to go

Thank you for the insight. These are the Vmax red polymer tipped for .308. They look exactly like the projectiles you get in the Hornady factory loads for .300 blackout.
And on closer inspection I realize that the black box I saw was loaded ammunition, not projectiles! Happy to start loading these up.

I've used the Vmax 110 grain projectile polymer tips in my 300 AAC loads under 19 grains of H110. Thy perform almost exactly has the Barnes TAC-TX 110 projectiles (with the same powder/load).
