115 gr 9mm bullet/380 acp

does anybody load a 115 grain 9mm bullet (winchester silvertips) into a 380 acp? i saw a deal on a couple of boxes at a local gun store, but i am not certain if using a heavier bullet in a 380 would be a good idea. would there be enough room for powder? would it feed properly? thanks.

I was going to try the same thing. Speer manuals did have the information but people had to many feeding problems and speer discontinued publishing the information.
My 115gr FMJ 9mm measures .579, length of bullet.
My .380 95gr FMJ measures .446 = .133 or 1/16 of a inch difference or the 9mm is longer. I made a dummy round and the round part of the 9mm was almost past the case mouth.
I will not try to load the 115gr as I think I would get jams.

I'd have argued against it, thinking it's too long, but then I looked in my Lyman Pistol and Revolver book. It gives lots of .355", 115 grain HP, .956" OAL, .380 ACP data. Who'da thunk it? Shoot me an e-mail and I'll send it to you. [email protected]
My regular Lyman 45th Edition book has data for a 121 grain cast bullet too.
