Hey all. I found some Hornady 115gr HAP bullets at a local gun shop and grabbed 100 thinking they may make a good SD load in my PM9.

After a bit a research, they are the same profile as the XTP's but without the grooves to aid expansion. Powders I have on hand are Titegroup and AA7.
My Lyman book lumps all JHP into one section and says Titegroup starting at 4.0, max of 4.5 with COL of 1.090.
Lee book lists the XTP specifically but only VV powders. It also has 115gr JHP section with a starting load of 4.5gr Titegroup with COL of 1.125.

I haven't found anything on Hornady's website for titegroup and Hogdon only has Gold Dots lists with same load as Lee.

So, does anyone have anything for 115gr XTP with Titegroup? Seems like there should be something published for that load.

Hogdon's website states that starting loads for all FMJ 115gr start at 4.5gr and 4.8gr of titegroup is max. I load them at 4.7 and they still seem pretty tame.
Its up to you if you want to load them for self defense.
For OAL I simply load them as long as they will fit in the barrel. Do the drop test. usually JHP's have to have an OAL slightly shorter than fmj.

Looks like I'll start at 4.5gr of Titegroup for now. I also want to do 5 or 10 with 8gr of AA#7.

I need to find somewhere that actually has powder in stock to get a few more options.

Powder

The trouble with powder off the net is a hasmat charge. That said I get on and surf 4 or 5 sites regulary.
I found a bargain on 700x bought 4 bottles of 14 oz.
Cabelas will sometimes have something in stock you can send to their stores.
I walked in a small shop in rendon tx and bought a 1lb of 2400
and he had other brands in stock.( win 296 and H110)
You just have to be proactive. But watch the prices.
