12 gauge reloading

I have recently acquired the ability to reload 3 inch 12 gauge instead of just 2 3/4. I find little data online for 3 inch shells. Tons on 2 3/4. What am I missing? Thanks.

If your new to shotshell reloading get the Lyman shotshell manual and read up. Shotshell loading is a different beast then metallic cartridge.

Mainly duck/squirrel loads. Lead 5, steel 2. I reloaded 2 3/4 about 15 years ago but got rid of my equipment and manuals and am just getting back into it. Found the data for 2 3/4 but not 3 on Higdon, Alliant, lee, websites. Like I say I am missing something.

As I said, both Hodgdon and Alliant have data for 3" shotshells. Go to their respective reloading data centers and fill in the blanks as to hulls, size, etc to get the data

Ballistic Products and the Lyman 5th Edition (I think) Shotgun Reloading Manual (got to have that one). I also download powder product catalogs from Alliant, Western, Hodgdon, etc.

www.hodgdonreloading.com I find particularly helpful as I use a lot of their powder. Maybe you're biggest problem will be getting hulls.

Hmmm, don't see many 3" on our skeet or 5-stand ranges. I've always tried to load down, not up. Anyway ......
