I have a new batch of 124gn cast RNL slugs. I want to develop an accuracy load that will perform well at 25 yards. I have on hand, N310, Bullseye, WW231, Solo 1000, and Clays.

I have read 4.0-4.1 of WW231 can be very accurate. I'm looking for some input.

Thanks.

3.9-4.0 gr of W-W 231 will givve you a nice 1000fps load with your 124 gr rnl bullet. I use this load in my Browning Hi-power pistol and it is both accurate and comfortable to shoot. :)

Not for nothin, I was shooting that round for the first time today with 4.3g of Red Dot. Round was dead on accurate, some leading at the end of the barrel, but think its more of a lube issue than anything. Will get it worked out and think this will be my go to round.

Ive been using W231 for quite a while now and im verry happy
I shoot a Ruger P95 and im running 4.3 grn of 231 and im verry happy
(This works im my gun don't know about yours)

I am "assuming" an 18 Brinell hardness should result no leading at the 1,000 fps most of these loads operate at?

I loaded some 3.5gn BE rounds tonight. Next is 4.0gns of 231. I have some Ramshot ZIP, that for all purposes, seems to be a mirror image of 231. I may try some of this as well.

I load some 18 bhn 124 gr lrn bullets. Tried unique, win231, and titegroup. Titegroup did good, but 3.8 gr of 231 was the ticket for me.

Which CZ will you be shooting these out of? :D

I agree with Nate1778 4.3 of Red Dot is a very accurate load.

I like Red Dot in the 9mm as well - but I'm throwing a bit less. It is very accurate and clean.

When I first started loading 9mm I used W231. Nothing wrong with it at all, Red Dot just proved to be more accurate and more economical in the long run for me.

Valiant casts their bullets to 13 BHM. I ended up shooting 4.0 grs Bullseye. The W231 load shot well.

4.0gr W231 is the load I always use with a 124gr lead bullet in the 9mm and yes, it is very accurate.

4.5 grains of Bullseye, with the bullet seated not deeper than .22"
Use 4.2 grains and you can seat the bullets as deep as .25" (these are both very close to maximum loads)
