I just picked up a brand new 12ga. coach gun from my local dealer. It came wrapped in plastic and a greasy oil, so I took it home, without checking it out.
I cleaned it, and while I was cleaning it noticed a wierd ring about 2" from the breach on the inside chamber wall. It follows the machining marks on the chamber walls, but then looks a lot like a pitted ring that you can feel when you rub your finger over it. The barrels looked mirror clean, but I got a lot of what I suppose was surface rust (lots of orange patches)...
The left chamber has a similar spot, only not as pronounced, and not in the same spot.
I am bringing this in tomorrow for my dealer to look at (at his request), but am wondering if I am just overreacting (this is my first double barrel shotgun) or if this is a legit concern...
