I make it a point to never buy a gun for the price of a nice used car. I am currently eyeing a Camaro Z28 for that exact same price...

Saying somthing is worth $14,000.00 and finding a idiot...sorry! a person to pay that is another thing all together.....There is no way in h*** I would pay that.

What you would be willing to pay has absolutely nothing to do with the guns value or what someone else might be willing to pay.

That thing hasnt sold yet? They've been trying to sell it for like 4 years.
I also love how its $14k, but the bolt doesnt match. :uhoh:

I think I can get a "plastic" stock from Midway or Brownell's for about $69.00

You people really miss the point here. You are not buying the gun for $14,000 because it has a plastic stock. It is that high because there are only a handul known to exist. When there are only a handful of a gunin the world, and they are a collectible gun, the price goes way up.

Some more expensive K98's (only because Mitchells overprices, they are even refinished): http://www.mitchellsales.com/rifles/hist_k98/index.htm

Why would I want some old cracked painting of some old woman like the Mona Lisa when I can get a velvet picture of Elvis at the flea market ?

There is an old saying that goes, "Something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it." Therefore, I say its worth $7.32. If they're going to be outrageously unrealistic, so am I.
