I picked up some Winchester Super X 147grain 9mm ammo at a gun show a couple weeks ago.

Usually I shoot the WWB 115gr ammo and am just wondering if anyone thinks that this ammo will be a bit too rough on my PT24/7. I'm sure it will be fine since the pistol is approved for +P ammo as well.

any thoughts?

bullet weight has very little to do with wear and tear on a gun, since bullet weight is only one part of the equation, and heavier bullets are generally not loaded to the same speeds as lighter bullets, with some exceptions if we are comparing lightly loaded range ammo to serious defense ammo.

And either way your 24/7 will be fine, I've been a gun owner and shooter for running up on five years now and have not put any noticeable wear on any of my pistols, despite the fact that I take them out as often as possible/affordable.

The Winchester Super X 147grain 9mm is loaded to the same velocity (990 fps) as the Winchester USA 147 gr. JHP (#USA9JHP2), both of which are pretty gentle standard pressure loads that are unlikely to cause any undue wear in your gun.

Blast away.

The 147gr is a popular USPSA competition load due to 'less' flip and recoil than the snappier 115s or even 124s ; AND they claim better accuracy and knock-down power for steel targets.
