Here ya go with my latest pawn shop find!

Mechanically "new", lots of holster shine. Bright bore and chambers. I'm going to see if I can get some provenance on this pistol. I'm guessing it was in one holster for 2, maybe 3 decades to get this kind of artful wear patina.

I've always liked those skinny grips. Too bad they're just for show. I vividly recall seeing those guns lying there on the pawnshop shelves. With all the hassles of filling out forms, showing driver's licenses, then undergoing a waiting period; yet back then the sales guy would say, "Sorry for the inconvenience, but I have to go get the box in the next room."

"Okay, but make it snappy," we could have replied. "I'm already late for a doctor's appointment!"

Sheesh...now you have to block off three hours, then pick up the gun a week or two later. And crime has continued to go up. Where did we go wrong? And I don't want any comments about giving women the right to vote! Even if things have gone drastically downhill since then, women have the same right to vote as we do!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you're not going to find any grips that will fit your 150 series Security Six. That series has a different grip shape than the 151 and up series, and no company's make a stock grip for that frame. If you want different grips, they'll have to be custom made.

The Security Six is my favorite hiking companion: sleek, small, durable, lightweight, and reliable.

Hey Skid, where have you been hiding?
Summer is here!
I just got back from a 4 day camp in the Big Belt mountains. I didn't see any bears, but it felt good having my Security Six with me the whole time.
Hope things are going good on your end!

I have a set of OEM Ruger Security Six grips in my kit, but I cannot remember if they are for my original blue 4" 150 or the S/S 2¾" 151 I bought a couple of years later. Both pistols are lonnnnng gone, unfortunately.

EDIT: Welp, answered my own question. I rooted around and found those Ruger grips ... and they include the OEM stainless steel screw, so they are from the later pistol.

EDIT#2: I got in my Time Machine and navigated thru a couple of old file boxes. My 4" Security Six was s/n 150-33573 and the later one (purchased Dec'75) was 151-75701. Funny thing ... as soon as I would say "1-5-0", "3-3-5-7-3" naturally pops into my head ... ~40 years later. :)
