Am interested in additional low pressure reloads for a vintage 16 gauge SxS hammergun. Currently using 7/8 oz loads, driven by 17.4 grains of IMR PB slow burning single based powder, @ 5,900 psi, 1,150 fps which generates only about 17.5 ft lbs of recoil.

Polywad has 2.5" 16 gauge low pressure loads, if you want loaded ammo.

Ballistic Products has components and data.

Oh, welcome to the board,too...

According to Hodgdon's site, 17 gr of PB runs at 8800 psi @1200 fps with a 7/8oz load in a RP hull, and 15.9 runs 7500 psi at 1150

Where did you get your numbers?

16 Gauge Low Pressure Loads

Hi oneounceload:
Though I first discovered this load from an 2010 article by Tom Ceretto "16 Gauge 7/8 ounce loads" the data is also verified by Hodgdon's site.

Soft recoil in a 6# gun and a relatively clean burning load and great for 100 rounds of Sporting Clays. Check out the following site for more info.
