Leaky Waders, that is a great photo! :D (Hey my waders were leaking today BTW AND I got skunked. :scrutiny:) Whats his/her name?

OP If you don't really shoot I would go with the 20. If you do some day feel like going out and shooting your gun then you can just stop by any place to get shells.

Heya Diggers,

Her name is Rhodes End Evie. She is named after everest due to the blaize. We kept her kennel name and call her Evie. I got her based upon a nice discussion about the smallest smartest healthiest breed on shotgunworld. She was like 8 weeks in that picture. She's 10 weeks 5 days today (I missed most of this week due to business travel). I'm on my way to the lumber yard to get stuff for her whoa board today.

The gun is a BPS in 16 gauge. I was hesitant to get it because the store didn't even carry 16 gauge on the shelf. But, we got some online so no problem. It's a nice gun.

I tend to see 12 and 20 gauge hulls priced the same as 16 gauge...but the 12 and 20's go on sale frequently while the 16 gauge doesn't in these parts.

I reload for 28's. I may start for 16 too.

I have to agree, keep the 20, but that doesn't mean I don't like shooting my Nitro Special 16ga SxS once in a while. Yep, you guessed it, my grandfather gave it to me. I'll be burried with that gun.
I bought Remington 1oz. "dove loads" at WalMart last week for $5.72 a box. I think I'll go back and clean the shelves of the remaining boxes for them. :what:

For the last couple of years I've been getting 16ga for 6.99 a box. This year I caught it on sale at 4.99 a box. The cheapest I have been able to get 12 or 20 locally was $40 a case, and that was a pre-season frenzy.

I had been shooting some clays with my wife and she had been doing well. I always wanted a 16 ga and found one thinking she'd like the reduced recoil. Turns out she does, so do her friends, my friends, and myself. Both guns are older 1100s, built on the 12 ga frame. The 16 has the same length barrel as the 12 (26in) but handles much faster and lighter. It's that weight reduction up front. The newer 16s with essentially bull barrels would not be worth buying though.

yep you are dead on about the newer 16 gauge 1100 with the "bull type" barrel way too nose hesvy

I opened the safe last night and looked...

I'm ashamed to say, I'm an idiot. One is a 20 gauge and one is a 28 gauge. I bought a 100 round value pack of 20 gauge target shells at Walmart tonight to let my girlfriend shoot in next weekend. We'll see. Sorry I'm such an idiot, first I thought one was a 16, then thought the other was something else. I have them both out and one is a 20, the other a 28.

Trade one of the guns?????

Howdy,
I guess I just don't get it.
Once I HAVE a gun, I KEEP the gun!!
I actually don't own a 20 ga. but inherited my Dad's vintage 1930s, "Sweet 16", Browning patent, Remington Model 11, "humpbacked shuffle barrel" auto.
It ain't goin' anywhere.
When I look at modern guns, and all their stampings, then at all of that great machine work on the Model 11, I just can't bear the thought of letting someone else have it.
Thanks for your time.

Gonna sell one?
Only keep the 20 ga. heirloom if to shoot.
Only keep the 16 ga. heirloom if to collect.
Al
