16" Winchester 94 in 44mag!

Think of that 16" .44 Mag lever as a really big pistol that squeezes everything out of the pistol cartridge it can. But be realistic about its effective range. In some places these are ideal, like the Ruger .44 Mag semi auto carbine...
 
hentown, you are right and I agree. One post shouldn't turn me off a gun :evil:

I was back at the shop today and the rifle was still there. It is a US-made 94M, according to the tag. It is brand-new, in the box. They said it was top eject, but I find that hard to believe with the scope mounts. It has a very dark (walnut?) stock.

One of the wierd things is that the stock doesn't like up perfectly with the tang. The wood sticks up about 1/10 of an inch about the metal. Is this common?

Given this new info, is it still worth the $660 (tax added) it would cost? I do like the gun... a LOT. But I want to be sure that it is a quality piece that will hold it's value, seeing as this is more of a "fun gun".
