18" bbl 870... 7 + 1 capacity. Legal in Cal?

Just as the title reads, is an 18" barreled Rem 870 w/ a 7 + 1 capacity legal to own in California? My sis just moved to Oakland and I was thinking about thing her one of my shotguns.

Yes, that's fine as far as state law goes. Oakland may have some gun laws of its own, though.

I doubt it's a problem, but overall length must be 26" or more, too.

Oakland doesn't get its own set of laws on possession. But the Feds get their say on interstate transfer, and CA gets a say on in-state transfer, and both require you run the transfer through a CA-licensed FFL.

No issues with 18" bbl, overall length needs to be 26" though.

Oakland does not have any special technical gun laws for possession - at least that are enforceable - due to state preemption.

18" bbl 870... 7 + 1 capacity.

My 870 is 6 + 1. How do you fit a 7th shell in the mag?

(I've heard 18" Mosbergs hold 7, but not Remmington.)
