OK, laugh at mine. I havent ever ran any 3.5's through it, but it's nice to know that in a SHTF situation I can run anything in 12ga ammo made. And you are obviously not a south Texas Goose hunter or you would know the 3.5's true value to the sporting world.I'd laugh at an 18.5" supermag barrel, but then I'd laugh at a supermag under pretty much any circumstance.

Ohhhh... You were thinking in terms of buying ammo. My mistake, having been rooftop deep in the flood of '98, I was thinking in terms of salvaging ammo from the rubble. A handfull of 3.5 T-Shot is better than nothing if your gun will run 'em.as I've said before elsewhere, if your ammo stores are sold out of 2 3/4 and 3" shells, it's highly unlikely they'll have 3.5s of any variety, and especially not HD loads. JMHO...

That can be true within some brands of guns but not all. The Remington 870 express Magnum and my 870 express Super-Mag weigh the same (in a given barrel length and furniture), have the same overall length, and the same length of pumpstroke. Not so in the Brownings, the 3.5" guns are bulkier than the 3".I just think most guys who buy 3.5" guns for non-hunting purposes do so due to "badass" factor - never considering that their gun is heavier, more complex,
