180 grain .38 RNFP bullet

Anybody interested? I just ordered a mould set from Magma this afternoon. This one has a big flat nose.

Would most folks prefer this in a soft (12) or harder (18) BHN?

I looked at the bullet's profile at Magma's website. Looks like a .45 Colt bullet with a hypothyroid problem

If I were to get that big boy, I think the harder bullet would be better. I bet that makes a good hog bullet. Probably take a good, slow powder like AA#9 or 2400 or H110 to get that up to full knockdown potential, huh?

I'll got against the grain and say softer for me. I use 200 grain bullets in IDPA to make minor at low velocity, and at those speeds, softer would be better. I can see uses for the harder bullet too of course. How about a 18 BHN 200 grain .358 SWC for .357 Magnum and Maximum?

I would be. I use 180 RNFPs for hunting so the harder one for a .357 mag load would be great.

..except for that oddball Landric, for whom we will happily make soft ones!

Magma doesn't make a 200 grain one, though. They do have a 230 grain bowling pin bullet. It looks like a dowell.

I don't know when the moulds will arrive, same as always. I'll post when they're here and available. I'm looking forward to this bullet, which is a bevel-base (forgot to mention that.)

so what will these BB bullets be sized at ?
I have a old Trooper with .3585" cylinder mouths and a 1:14 twist barrel, it really likes a .358" dia bullets and better yet a flat base for harder cast bullets to reduce leading, I not sure yours would work well in this gun ?
