Well, we went ahead and placed an order for a full set of Makarov 93 grain RN's from Magma this afternoon. Since we have the .380 sizing-side stuff in place, the Mak bullet won't be much different for us to work with.

I don't know how long it will take to get the moulds, as Magma is still back-ordered on most mould sets, although I seldom have to wait more than a month.

So, this is just an early heads-up for those interested in that looks-just-like-a-dang-molar Slav bullet.

This is great news considering that Berry just dropped their line of Mak bullets. This caused much consternation over on the CZ Forum. Glad to hear you're willing and able to respond.

Good for you!

Dang, you guys are good!

I missed out on your .380 sale but will need to order soon. I think you score big points on sticking close to your customers and responding to their desires, even if you have to say no sometimes. I won't mention by name any of the "other guys" that are your competition, but keeping in touch with the end users is something that gets loyalty from guys like me anyhow. Keep it up!

Kindest regards,

jj in Rochester, Minnesoviet, the state where nothing is allowed.

Brad, any chance the Russians might bring a heavy (~300 grain) .430 bullet with them? I'm thinking something good for heavy .44 handgun loads and .444 Marlin.

Thanks!

The Heavy Metal Monsters are Coming!

Landric, we ordered Magma 300 grain .430 Silohuette moulds a month ago as part of the same order which included the .45 Whompers (300 grain .452.) The .45's came, the .44's didn't, so I am still waiting.

I'll post a note when they arrive and we get them cast, sized, lubed, photographed, priced, and up on the website. I'll offer you the first box at a discount in an attempt to, in some small way, offset the wracking pain these monsters are going to inflict upon your hand.

Brad

Sir,

I have no idea how you can stay in business running a company like this! Low prices, outstanding service, listening to what the customers want, I dont believe you got the bullet casters memo that states that all casters must not talk to customers, no shipping for at least a month, and charge random amounts of money...:neener::D

Just kidding, you guys are awesome! Ive never had such good customer service along with your outstanding ship times, I live in AZ and can get bullets faster from you than local sources!

In 2 orders you've made me a permanent customer, Thanks!

Thanks Brad, that is good to hear. I would imagine that I'll load some for handgun, but for me its mostly going to be for .444 Marlin. That means it will be my shoulder that suffers, not my hand. :)

Keep up the good work!

Hey Brad, I want 500 of those .44 300s when you get setup for them. I'll shoot them out of my Marlin lever action. Won't hurt the hand that aways :)

I missed a .380 sale? DARN!

I am excited about the Makarov bullet. I check your site daily waiting eagerly for them to become available!!.

We have 10,000 Makarov's made up and ready to size. Unfortunately, the little dudes are too fat for our .380 collator plate and we are bemused at how we're going to get them fed through the sizer. We will figure it out in a week or so, I think.

Thank you.
I've been using Midway's (extra hard cast) I'm not sure of the BHN. 93gr LRN I think Meister makes them ? These have worked very well in my E.G. Makarov using Bullseye, W-231 or AA#5, I would like to try your bullet and compare.

Maks are .364, aren't they? Could you "open up" a .358 die by 6 one-hundreths and get what you need?

Might be easier said than done...

Q
But the problem isn't the sizing die. I have one. The problem is getting those squat little dudes to feed through the collator which orients them (theoretically!) into a nose-down position and then drops them down the lubrisizer feed tube. The bullets are as fat as they are long and they won't collate worth a darn. I bought a special .380 collator plate ($350.00) that works great for the .380 but the slots in it are too narrow to accomodate the Mak bullet.

I think I know what the next step is going to have to be :-(

:banghead:

Sorry. Now I get it. Collator and sizer are two different animals. Mea culpa...

Going back to the things I know something about...

I can not get them to collate through my M-A Systems collators. They're too fat for the special .380 plate I bought, believe it or not. They get in there sideways and just ride around and around and around...

So, I sent 500 of them to Howell CNC Machine in Lewiston, ID. They're the nice folks who built my last collator, dedicated to the 9mm SmallBall. I think they can come up with a discriminator wire assembly, feed tube, and plate that will orient and feed the Makarov bullet. Should know in a week. Meanwhile, we're sitting on over ten thousand of them; all of them waiting patiently for us to figure out how to size and lube them.

We will definitely have a THR-exclusive introductory offer on them for you all.

hi Brad, what dia. will your bullets be sized to ? and what is the BHN ?
Can you show a pic of the finished product ?

The Russians are here.

Ok, we got the custom conversion material from Howell Machine for their collator and I installed it yesterday. Wow. What a job. But they're feeding well enough now to declare them in production.

So, we're sizing them today and will have them photographed and up on the website tonight.

Naturally, there will be an introductory offer for the nice THR folks. The bullets are going to sell for $26.00/500 but the intro offer for you all will be $23.00 and will run one week from tonight when they go up on our website. There might be a 3-4 day backlog on them after the first 9,000 are gone, as we are doing "long runs" on other bullets right now and can't schedule machine time for them until the others are done.

Thank you all for your patience, as this project took longer than I'd thought. Now I think I know why there aren't many suppliers of this bullet :)

The tiny little things are here.

We have them ready to ship. Link is -
http://www.missouribullet.com/details.php?prodId=112&category=5&secondary=28&keywords=

Promo code to use at checkout is Spetznaz exactly as written. Please enter it correctly because if you do, it will work and I don't have a lot of spare time trading emails with people explaining that the discount code must be spelled correctly and with punctuation identical to what is provided. Best bet is to cut and paste.

The discount will run for one week and it's $3.00 off the regular $26.00 price for THR folks.

Thanks everybody for their patience!

Brad
