I need some input on Bullseye loads for 185 gr. JHP's. I've seen everything from 3.5 to 6.7. I'm shooting through a Colt Gold Cup, Smith 1911 PD and a
Beretta PX4.
4.4 - 4.6gr BE behind a Nosler or Zero brand JHP are common accuracy loads frequently seen on the 50 yd line of Bullseye matches.
3.5 (610 fps) - 6.0gr (976 fps) is the range in the Lyman 48th Ed.
Personally, 4.4 runs in all of my 1911s with stock spring weights and iron sights. I use a 12 # spring in those with a slide mounted red dot - same load.
Thanks Bryan....
I have a couple of dozen 6.0 BE's already loaded and I didn't want to have
to pull them. I'll take your advise on the charge. I have some Sierra 185's
I'd like to try....Thanks again.
