I ordered 2 sample packs from Precision Delta, 230 gr FMJ and 185 gr JHP.
The 230 gr are labeled .451" and the 185 gr are labeled .452". I am a little surprised as their website states the 185 gr JHPs are .451".

Are there any considerations I should be aware of as far as powder loading with the larger diameter?

A question for any reloading using the 185 gr JHP.
Per the Lyman Reloading Manual #49 - 185 gr JHP, 1.175 oal, HP-38 powder min 3.5, max 5.8. Do you reload to a length of 1.175? Seems a little short. Also, that is a fairly large range between min and max powder loading. I am thinking I will start with 4.5 gr HP-38. 185 gr Berrys HBRN @ 1.25" oal with 4.8 HP-38 doesn't begin to cycle my FNP.

If anyone uses this bullet powder combo would like to hear what works for you.

Thanks

I wouldn't think .001" would be a problem, it might even be beneficial in some barrels. Just start low and work up.

Hey Jef, what do those new PD 185 gr JHPs look like?

Their new 9mm JHP has about the same profile/shape as Montana Golds 9mm JHPs.

It would be nice if they had a picture of them....:(

Seedtick - they look good to me, which doesn't say a lot. I haven't reloaded hollow points and not sure where to start!

I see you have a link for RMR, are you affiliated?

No, I'm just another happy customer. Jacob, longdayjake, has some great deals oh his bullets and he's a good guy to boot.

Does their new 45 185 grain JHP have a shape similar to this Montana Gold 9mm bullet? It would be great if you could post a picture of them.

Jef, thank you very much for the picture.

I got a reply back from PD today saying they would have a picture of them up some time today.

Guess what? They got it up

and they look just like yours. :D I went ahead and ordered some to see how they shoot.

When you get your load worked up give us a range report. Thanks again for the pictures.
