Outstanding. Thanks again. I knew that length might be a factor. I will load up about 20 or so, and function test at my next range trip in a couple of weeks.

Thanks to everybody. I'll re-resurrect:confused: the thread with a report after.

And Lyman 48th shows 185 grain HP/XTP at 1.175" OAL...Go figure...

I still will load them at 1.190". It's where I get the best performance from this 3" Kimber...

Yep. As I said in my earlier post, I use .120 for 185's and 1.230 for 230's. Works fine for me.

I've had good results with the 185gr XTPs and Golden Sabres using 10gr of AA#5 at an OAL of 1.245".
This is for my Springfield 1911-A1 Mil-Spec.

185 XTP and TiteGroup-SR1911

I just loaded up some using TiteGroup starting at 5.1gn, 5.4gn, and 5.7gn using Hornady XTP 185 hollow point. As the load went up so did the accuracy. I stopped at 5.7gn beacase they were quite accurate at 25 feet and the recoil was still pretty light. Shot from a Ruger SR1911, 5 in barrel.
