i have a remington 1858. conversion from taylors & co its the r & d drop in but don't know if its for the uberti or the pietta i dont have my uberti here to try it it the 45 cal that is blued in nice shape with the nice box. the cylinder has a p on it but don't know if that's for pietta or just a proof make. i someone could measure there cylinder of ether that will help. i am thinking of selling it or do a tread what do they go for used. its unfired but was in a gun once. there is a small line from the cylinder lock. thanks troy.

Mine is a Taylors\R&D PATTERN, but I cant swear where it came from as I baught it used. That being said, the one for my Pietta 1860 absolutely DID come from Taylors, as I bought it new a couple years back... I cant find a "P" on either of them anywhere.

Aint got a Mic handy, but mine for the Pietta remmi measures about 2" even or maybe about 2 1/32 with the backplate and just hair shy of 1 11/16 without, by simple tape measure.

If its for a Pietta it probably wont even fit in your Uberti at all.. If it does itll be tight to use and wont time right.

I paid $125 for mine right here... It had been used a couple times but no cylinder lines or anything. They ask a LOT more on GunBroker... Whether they GET it or not, I dont know.. I know they never sold ME one there.

I guess its worth whatever YOU think its worth.. LoL, cant buy it AND sell it for ya. What are YOU thinking of asking for it? I MIGHT be interested... Long as I unload all the Ol' Ladies guns FIRST LOL...

I've acquired a few R&D and/or Taylor's conversion cylinders as part of package deals with revolvers. I've never used any of them (the conversion cylinders) so I listed 2 on Gunbroker and they both sold for at least $200 each. That was about 2 years ago.
The hardest part about selling or trading locally for me is finding someone who even knows what it is let alone want one or be willing to pay a fair price for it.

Quick revision Troy, I got to thinking about it and decided to tear the 1860 down and recheck it. Still no "P" on my 6shot remmi type, but the 5 round '60 actually does have a P hidden under the backplate.

Still cant SWEAR that means Pietta, but thinking its a pretty good chance..

I have a conversions in 2 Remmys. One pietta and one uberti. Both were made by Howell's (R&D back in the day), and are 5 shot cylinders. The Pietta one has P on the cylinder and the Uberti one has a U. Yours is for a Pietta.

Im thinking the earlier 6rnd cylinders dont have room for a P... At least not in the same place. It would have to be TINY if it where there...
