I recently picked up one of the 1885's in .38-55 and am having lots of fun with it, but it seems kinda lonely in the safe...maybe a .405 Win to keep it company?
Seriously though, the .38-55 is a delight to shoot, even with the stiffer handloads (and this caliber is pretty much a handloading proposition. I wonder how the greatly increased recoil of the .405 through .45-90 cartridges would be with the crescent buttplate?
