Are the Argentine, Brazilian, Spanish, or any other bayonets compatible with the 1895 Chilean Mauser?

Also, how do you tell what year a chilean mauser was made?

I have an 1895 Chilean and I think it's s time period correct bayonet but not a Chilean so my WASG is yes it will.

I have an Argentine mauser (1891) and a Chilean (1895) I have an Argentine Mauser bayonet that fits the Chilean rifle. It will not go on the Argentine. It is an Argentine bayonet, the crest is only partially ground off. It has an aluminum handle and it is the most beautifully made bayonet I have ever seen. But it won't go on that Argentine rifle!

go figure.

Just to make it more interesting.......like Spain some of the South American countries kept their '95 bayonets and added an adaptor to the bayonet lug of their new '98s with some of the '98s not altered and with new '98 bayonets.

Fun, eh?
