Grizzly customs uses a ghost ring sight from LPA that is made to mount on top of a shotgun receiver, to fit it they mill it to the shape of the 1895. It looks great and is click adjustable, problem is they want 375 bucks to provide the sight, mill it, and fit a proper front fight. LPA makes the same sight to fit on a weaver or pic. type rail which I could toss on top of the marlin receiver as if mounting a scope and then put the sight on the rail. Has anyone else tried this or know of a problem I might encounter, I know I'd have to go higher on my front sight but that should not be a problem.

Go to XS sight systems and see what they have. They have a long, full length rail and you can add a weaver mount sight to it, IIRC, plus they have good ghost rings of their own.

Then you have to figure out a proper front sight height to match up with the sight, and I know nothing about that.

I know what other places have but the xs sights are not my first choice.

Put a Willaims receiver sight on it, then screw the target aperature out and put it in your pocket.

There, it's a ghost ring sight, and you don't have to replace your front sight.
Or throw your neck out trying to see through one up on top of a scope mount..

I'm real familiar with other aperture sights, and you don't have to crane your neck for top mounted ones. Have you seen a scope mount jack? Not the rings just mount? Not real high up is it? If you have information on the LPA sight let me know. This is what grizzly custom mills to fit, the one I am thinking of getting looks the same but would sit on the weaver rail, http://www.grizzlycustom.com//photo_pages/lever/receiver_right_1.html

Hi - yep this is an old thread.....any updates on this project? I like the LPA shotgun sight too.... I was thinking about one on a rail for my new 1895 STG (Trapper). I like the rugged design with click adjustments and wings.

Thanks.
