Has anyone seen a 1909 Argentine mauser chambered in 22-250 or anything 22 caliber? Could this be an original barrel or definitely something aftermarket? Thx a lot in advance

So do they replace the magazine as well? Do these rifles usually cycle shells pretty good? Thx

1909 Argentine Mausers have been rebarreled to a wide variety of calibers and I expect quite are few were converted to .22/250 back when 1909's were cheap and easy to come by. It would be a fairly simple conversion because the bolt face requires no alteration. I once had a .22/250 built on '98 Mauser action that fed from the magazine with no problem. The standard Mauser action (1909, etc) is a bit long for the .22/250 but some savvy gunsmiths shorten the action to make a more compact package for shorter calibers like the .22/250, .250 Savage, etc. For example here is one built on a 1909 action that was shortened by a full inch. It is now a .250 Savage and would also about perfect for .22/250.. DSC_0564.JPG DSC_0560.JPG DSC_0570.JPG
