Picked up the Range officer this month, fit is great, feels good in the hand...Can't wait to shoot it.

Of course they got 5 Ruger 1911's in stock a week after I bought it, oh well Next time.

Not a SCRAP of .45 ACP to be found locally the last few weeks, found some brass but don't have the dies yet. :banghead:

Found most of a box of ACP hidden under my .45 Colt reloading supplies today, hopefully can escape to give it a basic function test this weekend.

I would think the bigger difference between them is Stainless vs Blued, followed by fixed vs adjustable sights. Cast frames are good to go, if the frame is well made and fitted it will last, if it is not it won't. How it is made is not worth worrying over.

If I lost my 1911 and had $850 to buy one of the three you listed I'd pick the Range Officer for the fully adjustable sights. My understanding is with the Remington you can adjust elevation with a screw but have to physically tap the rear sight right or left to adjust it. I have a gun like that and it isn't my favorite system, but it is also a budget CCW so I understand that option at $350 more than at $850.

I have a Springfield Loaded. It feeds any bullet shape I stick in it and shoots nice groups. I couldn't ask for more out of a 1911 in it's price range.

The Range Officer is not US made.

I believe they're assembled in the USA.
