Just curious what others here thought about a gun that I spotted this afternoon at a local gun shop:
The gun is a commander-sized 1911 with a blued Colt slide on a no-name frame. Judging by its weight, the frame appears to be an alloy frame. The slide and component fit well; there was no slide rattle; the safety and slide lock worked smoothly. The hammer is a standard commander-style hammer. The magazine looked used and didn't have a brand-name on it. Overall the gun looked good and did not appear to have been abused.
The price for this little guy was $499. I realize that there are numerous government size 1911's that sell close to that price new. However, it is much harder to find a used commander size gun for that price around this area.
Thanks in advance for the input.
