1911 magwell-magazine compatibility

I am thinking of putting a magwell on my range use 1911 (probably one of the mainspring housing types) and was wondering if if I will have to buy different magazines. I currently run Chip McCormick 8 rd Power Mags and am curious if these will work with a magwell, or if I will have to change bases plates or mags all together.

Your Chip McCormick mags should have 1/4" extended base pads already on them.

That should be enough to have something sticking out far enough to seat them.

If still not enough?

McCormick sells even longer ones that fit your mags.
