I was wondering if it is better to order all the pins for a 1911 from Brownells seperately and get Colt or if it made more sense ease wise and financially to just go ahead and order one of the pin sets. Seems all of the major after marker manufacturers have them, Wilson, STI, Nowlin, Cylinder & Slide, even Brownell. If a kit, any suggestions.

Thanks,

Ron

Most of the pin sets you see offered by the bigger names are from the same source. They are probably machined from leaded mild steel, and usually fairly soft.
EGW has pin sets machined from tool steel and properly heat treated for the same price.

Chuck,

Thanks for the reply. EGW Pin sets are the way to go. I don't see them listed at Brownell's or Midway, do I need to order them direct?

Thanks
