1911 Platform Grip Safety Affecting Trigger Pull

On the 1911 Platform, when I measure the trigger pull without the grip safty, it measures one level. When I add the grip safty and measure the trigger pull again, it changes upward 3 to 4 ounces of trigger pull.

The question, what could be rubbing internally (my assumption) causing this?
