This is my first time cleaning my 1911 (Dan Wesson Bobtail 10mm) and things were going fine until reassembly. With slide in place, trying to replace the slide stop, the slide seems to have gone too far back and is now locked in place. It won't budge in either direction. The slide stop notch (the one closest to the muzzle) is about 1/8th inch behind where it would be for the slide to be locked in place with the slide stop engaged (the slide stop is not in place). Has this ever happened to anyone else? I'm scared that I have completely ruined my brand new gun and a bit annoyed that such a thing is even possible. I followed the instructions and watched Youtube videos on the process and somehow I managed to **** up. Any assistance would be appreciated. If I need to snap some photos, I can do that too.
