I've had my RIA 1911-A1 (GI model) for about 7 years now. Full size 5in, so this may not apply to you other a than general opinion of the RIA guns.
Mine is as accurate or more than a couple other name brand hand guns I have. Same for the stock trigger, as good or better than the rest of the name brands I have.
Goes bang every time and eats everything I load for it. I load my own and it has never been picky. Does not seem to have any preferences to bullets or powders, all seem to be as accurate as the next. I'd say the gun in general is more accurate than I am.
