Need some info from some of you Experts with this 1911.
Looking to purchase one with the S/N 156xxxx which puts it to be a 1943 Remington Rand with all the correct Markings on the lower.
The problem is with the Slide, it has the Proof Mark P on the top but it has no Manufacturer Name on the left side.
And I can not find anything on the Rand, Ithica or Colt with the plain left side.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Odd are good it went through a rebuild at some point and none of the parts, including the slide and barrel, are original.

I used to be an Army armorer back when this was the issue sidearm. All the ones I saw seemed to be a mish-mash of different parts. I did a lot of mixing and matching of parts to get accurate, reliable guns for our pistol teams. The best one I ever saw had the s/n SM11131, meaning it had started life as a .22 Service Match gun. When I got hold of it, it was already a .45 and I did considerable fitting to get the performance I wanted. I won my first "Leg points" with that gun. It shot right on the sights and was 100% reliable. But it sure wasn't 100% original.

I thought that it was a replacement Slide, even by the better finish, not by much, just a little cleaner.
Cant find anything on that Slide anywhere, still want to buy, just trying to make sure I don't pay to much.

He knows about as much as I do about it, so I was trying to come up with an offer.
Its clean except not being 100% original, 80%.
