Holy Moly! That's a beauty Hoof! I didn't know G.U. made an L&R.

I have a G.U. Navy from 1959. I've been kicking around the idea of turning it into an L&R or maybe even a Dance.

Hoof, no Sir. No proof marks or date code. The only other markings on the gun, besides the G.U. and Navy Arms, is the number 59 stamped on the face of the cylinder. Also a low serial number of 1379. Which made me believe 1959, possibly 1960. It's a well used gun, with little finish left on it. But it shoots like a dandy!

Nice looking Leech and Rigdon! The cased set is just more icing on the top of the cake! Thanks for the great photos too!

Nice! I have a few early ones also.

Thanks Guys.

Lonesome, you are right. These G.U.'s are a different breed than other makers. They even feel different in the hand. The dimensions are smaller than a modern Uberti, or at least it feels like they are. My gun is 60 years old, and it's obviously been used pretty hard. But it's still tight and precise. You can shake it and it doesn't rattle. Pretty impressive to me. I wish mine were in better shape, but at least I don't feel guilty shooting a collectible. I was pretty lucky to get this one.
