Its said that he "wrote and performed hip hop music".
To what extent could "keepin it real" and "gotta be hard" have factored into this tragedy, i.e. gotta be a tough guy?.
And yes "hip hop music" does not mean hardcore gangsta rap, necessarily, but it can.
Then again, he was 19 - he could have been trying to impress the girl on his lap, just in a terrible way.
I've been very critical of the whole "rap culture" here many times. I want to cry at what it is doing to our young people.
But in fairness, I understand it may have nothing to do with this tragedy.
But then again, it might.
