I am so excited!!! I went out and set up my blind today, while a little buck watched me not 40 yards away! I have not seen any big bucks, but I'll take a little forky on my first hunt, especially since I have yet to harvest a deer. Even if I don't connect, it will be a beautiful place to watch the sun throw some light on the granite batholith we call the Sierra Nevada. Wish me luck my brothers!

Good luck to you sir. i got my first one last year after five years of bow hunting. It is a challenge to use a natural ground blind in a desert!!!! Our archery season doesn't start till september 29th.

Unless your 100% sure of making the shot. Please dont. There will be a lifetime of chances.

Good Luck to you thou...

Went out for 5 hours. Saw 4 does and 2 fawns. I made one doe feel at ease, and I could walk about 30 yards away from her and she just kept eating. It's going to rain, so going back up--should be a light thunder shower. Going to a different place. The rain will be great for making the ground softer. One of the tough things about the area I am hunting is that you need to hike a few miles back--well maybe 1 - but you could easily hike six miles. The trail is not so tough, but rocky and uneven. Getting a deer out of there won't be easy though.
