Doing some window shopping on gunbroken and saw some FEG Hi Powers with two import stamps. One, on the right slide is KBI, Harrisburg Pa (wasn't that one of Kassner's companies?) and the other, on the right side of frame is CAI, Georgia, VT. Serial number on barrel (viewed through ejection port) and on slide match. No serial number visible on frame.
Wondering what the explanation could be. First thing popping into my mind is it's a parts gun....frame from crate A and slide and barrel from crate B.
Other than that, anybody have any ideas.
Left side of frame has typical FEG logo and is marked Mod. JPK-9HP which is Kassner's model designation (his daughter's initials, I believe.)
They have a couple of others. His priciest one (at $285) has wood grips. Nice. But they are two different styles, right is smooth, the left is checkered.
Here's the web site: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=466455892
As much as I'm learning to really like HP's, I think I'll pass on these, unless someone here has something nice to say about them.
