BTW, how much velocity gain is there with that extra 1" with .357 loads? Before someone says .357 loads are too much for a J-frame, I have no problems shooting them well out of my scandium gun (OK, they do "sting" a bit).

Not just velocity but bullet stabiliization is an issue with short barrelled revolvers. I had the chance to shoot both my Taurus M85 3 inch and a friends M85 2 inch for comparison. Off of a sandbag rest at 50 feet the 2 inch gun's group was almost double that of the 3 inch.

I will always go for the 3 inch now.

Hello all

RON L here (FNG)

I have caried a lot of different revolvers over the years! I still like and use a Model 36 S&W have had a 37, a few Different Detectives special by Colt, as well as a Beat up Old 'Agent" I was stupid for trading off! Heck, I ever carried a Charter Arms when i was First married and broke? I prefer the 2" as I like the Pocket carry, but have had a few 2 3/4 Rugers and 3" Smiths and Liked them just fine, I holster carried them, as many have said here!

I have the M60 3 inch and like it very much. I had traded off one of the 2 inch airweight snubbies to get this one. For me, the 3 inch carries and balances better. I carry it usually in a Kramer paddle holster OWB, but have done the pocket carry with it. The steel M60 is a bit heavy for pocket carry, for me at least but it is OK in a coat or jacket pocket.
