Hey, I’m sure some of you load these.
I picked up some 200 gr Acme SWC-NLG coated to try out.
I seated them @ 1.235 over 4.9 grains of power pistol & Winchester large pistol primers. The crimp measured .470-.469
Gun was a freshly cleaned 45 acp Sig 5” 1911 fastback nightmare with the factory match barrel.
I loaded three dummies rounds since this COL plunked & spun free. I cycled them by hand several times through a factory Sig ,Wilson ETM & trip cobra mags with no issues.
However I had a failure to feed after the first fired shot with the Sig mag where the case was not all the way into the chamber but the projectile was in but it was bound nose up. Nothing searoius but a PITA.
I dropped the mag locked the slide back and removed the round with my index finger letting fall out of the mag well. Loaded it back into the mag after looking it over. Fired one shot same thing.
So I stripped the mag and tried the Wilson ETM it was worse ok tried the other factory mag and got spotty feeding but finished the 25 I loaded. I forgot the trip magazine but don’t think it would matter much.
Are they nose diving or perhaps bouncing off the feed ramp? Maybe load abit longer or shorter?
Figured I’d see what input or at least what COL any of you use with these? I like this gun it’s a tack driver & the Bullets fly well I just need a little help getting them to feed well.
Thanks.
