Interesting statistics.

Marlin is #1, huh? Wow. I would've bet Ruger would have been, with their 10/22 being the more "pushed" product than the Model 60/795 .22 rifle.

Weird to see Thompson-Center making more rifles than Colt Defense.

Also, Cavalry Arms makes one of the most inexpensive AR lowers out there... they only sold 395 of these in 2006? I find that very hard to believe.

Also, who is Argus?

Remington has two lines. If you add them up they are bigger than Marlin. Kinda a moot point now that Remington bought Marlin.

I was quite surprised to see that the number of firearms sold totaled fewer than 1000 before even getting down to #50. Also, considering the apparently massive advertising budget of Kimber, sales totaled fewer than 10,000 units. I wonder how much that adds to their high prices.

controls Remington, Bushmaster, Cobb & DMPS

NEW YORK (Reuters) — Private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management will buy closely held firearms maker Remington Arms for $118 million, the companies said Thursday.
As part of the acquisition of Remington, which makes guns for hunting and for police and military uses, Cerberus has agreed to assume $252 million of debt, including a revolving credit line and subordinated notes.

I believe that the figures are for complete rifles, not stripped recievers (which are not FAET taxed).

This report doesn't reflect guns sold, it reflects guns manufactured. Theoretically, Kimber could have sold zero guns, despite having made 9652. Plus, you have to remember that this particular part of the report just reflects Kimber rifles, not overall output. That doesn't surprise me, really. Kimber rifles are pretty freaking expensive, and it makes sense to me that they make relatively few of them. If you look through the entire report, you will find that Kimber manufactured a total of 60,618 pistols, which is quite a few. It's nothing compared to S&W's total of 223,017 handguns manufactured though...

then some makers build in a year...

I gather if Bushmaster wants the lions share of any subcontracted assemblies like bolts

they will get them
