I looked thru the ATF report for either USRA or Winchester, and didn't find anything. I wonder how this jives with reports Winchester was feverishly churning out shoddy rifles, up until they closed the plant March 28th, 2006, I believe it was. Guess they didn't build any rifles in 2006 at all. Interesting. Looks like all the Winchesters that miraculously showed up during the spring and summer of 2006, had been lounging around distributors warehouses since 2005.

For Purposes Of This Report Only, "production" Is Defined As:
Firearms, Including Separate Frames Or Receivers, Actions Or
Barreled Actions, Manufactured And Disposed Of In Commerce
During The Calendar Year.

I have no idea if that was meant to reference me, but it would be important to note that the last part of that refers to the gun companies selling the stock to retailers, not necessarily consumers buying the guns. The qualifier here is that Ruger, as far as I know, does not sell directly to the public. Surgeon (with only 18 rifles manufactured in 2006), on the other hand, probably does. If Joes Gun Shack buys 50 Rugers, that is a whole different thing than saying that consumers bought 50 Rugers. I mean, Pontiac built a whole lot of Azteks, sold a whole bunch to dealers, but you don't see a whole lot of Azteks on the road, do you?
