2007 SHOT show events...

The 2007 SHOT show will be at the new Orange County Covention Center in Orlando Florida . Are these SHOT show events open to the general public? A gun magazine item said they are only open to the gun makers, media, vendors, LEOs, etc. I'd like to see the firearms/products and want to know if I can get in.

Nope...If you have a C&R FFL they consider you "in the trade", I could get in that way...

If you are good friends with your local FFL they can get you in.

Just a word of advice though, don't waste the sales reps time. Huge sums of money changes hands at SHOT. Many dealers will spend 90% of their years budget.

It is nothing personal, but this is an industry show, not a public show, for good reason.

The first year I went was as a regular person getting in under my FFL buddy. The last 3 years have been as an industry person. If you're going as a regular person, don't get offended if people don't take the time to talk to you. The reps are trying to do business.

I have been to three SHOT Shows over the past 15 years and am going back to Orlando (friends in Tampa to visit for a long winter vacation) with credentials supplied by FLD.

I will rubberneck, fondle, and enjoy, but I will stay out of the way of the real dealers and vendors, some of whom do half or more of their year's business in those four days. On the other hand, there will be some vendors who are glad to talk to ANYBODY who seems interested and knowledgeable.
